Teak furniture is primarily made from teak wood. Planted and harvested in tree farms, the actual harvesting process for teak wood is around fifty years. If left outdoors for a while, teak wood turns a pretty silver grey patina. However it is to be noted that this does not affect its tension or durability. To maintain the furniture for a longer time, you can add a little teak oil, this also enhances the honey glow that the wood has. Known for its strength and long life span, teak furniture can be quite costly. It can withstand excessive climate conditions which is one of the main causes of its high cost.
